THE MISSION OF THE LINEBERGER BIOINFORMATICS CORE is to support and enhance LCCC research activities by providing bioinformatics services and support. To this end, the Core:

  • Provides infrastructure and analytical expertise to support cancer research for management and analysis of large scale research projects;
  • Promotes individual researchers to tap the ever-growing data generated by new cancer research technologies.

The Lineberger Bioinformatics Core is involved in multiple projects where the goal is integrated analysis of genomic data. Our role in these collaborations is to allow LCCC PIs to mine relevant information from their data, and leverage public data for their own experiments. We are also experienced in integrating clinical data with genomics for association testing. This work has led to development of clinically relevant diagnostic assays, their evaluation with public data, and validation in clinical trial cohorts.
